Announcements and Prayer Requests from 10/23/11

Posted by MBenfield

This message was received from Lydia, who is organizing the Fall Festival:
Due to weather conditions predicted for Saturday, the outside dunking booth will no longer be included as part of this year’s We Love Woodbridge Fall Festival celebration. All other games previously scheduled to occur outside will be moved indoors.

Since your class has so generously offered your time to this event, it is our sincere hope that you will allow us to replace the dunking booth with a Monster Toss game in the Fellowship Hall. The kids enjoyed playing this game but we did not have enough volunteers to include it this year. However, your help in manning this game would allow us to include it. In order not to inconvenience you, we would like for you to fill the time slot agreed upon for the dunking booth.

Please let me know whether or not you will be able to participate in this effort. If so, please let me know the time you were scheduled to work the game.

Serving at the Hilda Barg Homeless Shelter:
We also have agreed to serve at the Hilda Barg shelter on the evening of 11/25 which is the Friday after Thanksgiving. We should probably come up with a theme and have folks sign up to bring side dishes and the main course. Some ideas were crockpots of soup and chili, or a mexican theme. i was told that they get pasta a lot so perhaps italian is not a good idea.
